The last will be first

The standard by which society measures greatness is at a level so unattainable that it can cause us to minimise menial decisions in life.

Hustle culture teaches that we have not achieved unless we have expended every ounce of our effort and willpower.

No one will congratulate you for making your bed this morning, for cleaning the house or remembering to eat.

It does not mean that achieving these feats is less valuable.

The Bible says “the parts that we think are less honourable we treat with special honour” and “your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

God honours the menial, insignificant things you do in life as much as the outstanding feats you achieve.

God honoured Elijah in his massive victory, and also encouraged him to rest and eat straight afterwards.

God cares about you as an individual, dare I say, He cares far more about you, over what you can do for Him.

If I can encourage someone, it’s okay if the only thing you achieved today was to get up and eat. For God honours the unseen and menial far more than what people will have us believe.
